Director General Emergency Relief Cell Cabinet Division (ERCCD), Brigadier Sarfraz Khan on Wednesday said that armed forces of Pakistan conducted timely and effective rescue operation and saved many precious lives in the flood-hit areas of Balochistan. Talking to PTV, the DG ERCCD said that Pak Army, Air Force and coast guards stationed nearby the affected areas moved quickly and carried out rescue and relief operation and help rescued several precious lives.

Under that cell, on the special directives of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmad went to Balochistan by C-130 aircraft, carrying relief goods, he added.

While, other relief agencies including UNDP, Pakistan Red Crescent and other NGOs have also joined the relief operation, he said.
